Privacy Policy.

This policy explains what information Sesh collects, why, how it’s used, and the choices you have. Sesh is a social blood-alcohol-content (BAC) estimation and drink-tracking app.

Sesh is not a medical, legal, or safety device. BAC values are Widmark-formula estimates based on what you enter, for entertainment and harm-reduction awareness only. Never rely on them to decide whether to drive or operate machinery.

01Who we are

Sesh App is operated by an individual developer (sole proprietor) enrolled in the Apple Developer Program.

02Information we collect

We only collect what the app needs to function.

Information you provide

Account details: your email address, to create and authenticate your account.
Profile information: display name, age, biological sex, and body weight. Sex and weight are required inputs to the Widmark BAC calculation; age confirms you meet the legal drinking age.
Optional profile photo (avatar): if you choose to add one.
Drink and session data: drinks you log (type, volume, ABV, timestamp), live sessions you start or join, and groups and manually added guests you create.

Information collected with your permission

Location (while using the app): used only to find and show nearby bars and venues. Not used for background tracking and never sold.
Camera: used only to scan beverage barcodes. Images are processed on-device for scanning and are not stored or uploaded.
Push notification token: if you enable notifications, a device token is stored so we can send session and group-activity notifications.

Information collected automatically

Basic technical data needed to operate the service (e.g. authentication tokens and timestamps). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics/tracking SDKs, and we do not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

03How we use your information

create and secure your account and sign you in;
calculate and display your estimated BAC and time-to-sober;
power live sessions, groups, shared rounds, and the leaderboard/roast features;
show nearby venues when you grant location access;
look up beverages you scan;
send notifications you have opted into;
maintain, debug, and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

04How your information is shared

With other users you choose to interact with. In a group session, limited information (display name, avatar, and — within an active session — your estimated BAC and drink count) is visible to other members, consistent with the social features you opt into.
With our hosting provider (Supabase). Account, profile, and session data are stored in a Supabase-hosted database protected by row-level security, processed on our behalf.
With Apple. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the service.

05Data retention

We keep account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Session and drink history is retained to provide the app’s history features. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time; we’ll delete it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

06Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/EEA GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, object to or restrict certain processing, and request a copy of your data.

You can change profile details and avatar in the app at any time, and you can revoke camera, location, and notification permissions in your device’s Settings. To exercise any other right, contact us at the email above.

07Children

Sesh is intended only for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal drinking age. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

08Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and database row-level security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.

09International users

Your information may be processed and stored on servers outside your country, including where our hosting provider operates. By using the app you consent to such transfer, processing, and storage consistent with this policy and applicable law.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
